10 Things You Must Do When Purchasing a Double Jogging Stroller

Author: Administrator
If you have two kids and you are a regular walker or a runner then a double jogging stroller is a great way to be fit, get your exercise, keep the kids busy and spend time with your babies.

A double jogger will be lightweight and have a fixed front wheel. The fixed front wheel is ideal for jogging, because it provides the stability and straight tracking that you need.

Making a decision on which stroller is best for you is not a simple choice. There are many factors to consider. Here are the top 10 factors to keep in mind.

1. Easy to jog and provide a smooth ride - look for a double jogging stroller that has large 16 inch back wheels and has a large 16 inch fixed front wheel. The large 16 inch wheels will make it easier to jog and will provide baby with a smoother ride.

2. Make sure your kids will be comfortable. The seats in the stroller should be easily reclined - and the seats should be padded and constructed of fabric that is breathable and is a light-weight material.

3. Adjustable handlebars. Get added flexibility with handlebars that are adjustable. If for example, your spouse is significantly taller or shorter than you the stroller should have the flexibility to easily adjust the height of the handlebars.

4. Light-weight. The lighter your stroller is the better (35 pounds or less). You will inevitably be lifting the folded-up stroller in and out of your car - and you want to make sure that it can be easily done. And, obviously the lighter the stroller the easier it will be to push.

5. Durability - you want your double baby stroller to last. Look for one with a welded aluminium frame. This type of frame provides durability. It is also a lightweight frame which is important. The wheel construction also provides durability and will reduce the weight of the stroller. Look for one that has alloy wheels and hubs.

6. Child Safety. Look for a stroller that has a 5-point harness for both seats. This harness style is easy to use and it will keep your kids safe and secure in the stroller.

7. Brakes. Your double jogging stroller must have a parking brake (usually a bar near the rear wheels that is engaged with a flip of your foot). In addition, the better jogging strollers will have a hand brake (situated on the handlebar) which is similar to a bicycle hand-brake and is used to quickly stop the stroller when running or walking.

8. Sun Protection - one of the most important aspects to look for is whether there is a sun canopy that has the flexibility to provide shade to both of your babies no matter what the angle of the sun. Look for a twin stroller that has independent sun canopies for each child seat, and the canopies should be fully flexible so they can be positioned so that the sun can always be blocked from the baby.

9. Easy to put away and easy to set up - Look for one that has a simple, easy process for setting up for your run or walk and for folding down to a compact size for storage or placing into a car trunk. And make sure that it can be easily folded by one person. You won't always have a second person with you to help with the baby and the stroller. And, if you plan to travel a lot look for one that has quick-release wheels that pop off for ultimate compactness when folded.

10. Weight Capacity - Weight capacity refers to the certified weight that the stroller can carry. When purchasing a duo stroller for jogging make sure that it has enough capacity in order to accommodate your children as they grow older and gain weight. The last thing you want is to have your child outgrow their stroller. Look for one that is rated to hold babies that have a combined weight up to 100 pounds.
